I like to tell stories…

And perhaps because of that, as well as the hypnosis movies exert on me, I try taking pictures that tell a story.

They are short photo essays that require a quick read with a similar approach. The simplest story can sometimes be difficult to tell, especially when aiming for a way to tell it without leading the reader to think there’s only one interpretation. But photography enables an infinite number of variables that suggest differentiation and are important stylistic tools: black & white is predominant, but color photos appear now and then in a subtle, partial way, as if to say “I’m still here”…

The form, size, inclination, alignment, transparency and overlap of component photos have an important roll in the editing and the desire, whether conscious or subconscious, of communicating a certain idea. Many photos are key when defining a theme, while others define context, or help the observer breathe.

As for the themes? Those would be the ones closest to my desires and fantasies, over which my doubts and fears hover.

Ultimately, elaborating this photo essay is a way of trying to register the story of my life.
